USFS – Pacific Southwest LZs 1.0

The USFS – Pacific Southwest Landing Zones App serves as a valuable resource for Interagency Wildland Firefighting personnel, providing access to vital Landing Zone (Helispot) information for forests within Region 5. The landing zones included in this application have received certification from Local Unit Aviation Staff, ensuring their readiness for use by helicopters during both night and day operations.

Users can efficiently organize landing zones through various sorting options, including alphabetical order, type, and proximity based on their GPS location. This functionality enhances the app's utility, enabling users to navigate effectively to landing zones when responding to vegetation fires.

At present, the app supports only the Angeles National Forest, underscoring its targeted focus. It is sponsored by the United States Forest Service, Pacific Southwest Region, Fire and Aviation Management.
